Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning circle. It is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe.
In various spiritual traditions, mandalas may be employed for focusing attention of practitioners and adepts, as a spiritual guidance tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction.
In common use, mandala has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.

Skull and Roses Tattoo by Tamas Dikac
Skulls in tattoos can represent our own mortality or “momento mori” Latin for “remember your mortality”.
Roses are often tattooed with skulls to show the contrast between life and death or beauty and decay.
This design also has the butterfly for life and beauty and the cross for mortality.
This work in progress of the Avengers Tattoo by Tamas Dikac after the first session. This will become a sleeve featuring all the Avengers characters. More sessions to come!
This memorial tattoo by Tamas Dikac honours the clients grandfathers. The image includes Sunflowers and Roses as each grandfather was a keen grower and each cultivated competition winning examples. It was Tamas’s idea to include the womans face, an angel.
